The Cutthroat was built for epic adventures. The 2020 version has had several updates!

The Cutthroat GRX 600 might be an odd machine at first glace, but there are few bikes that handle everything from ultra-endurance touring to gravel racing to commuting. With a carbon fiber frame and fork forming the "backbone" of the Cutthroat, the bike is already a strong, lightweight performer. New for 2020 is Boost 110/148 thru-axle hub spacing, improving lateral rigidity at the wheels. The fork is also new, with better compliance over rough surfaces. There are also metal abrasion-resistant plates under the fork crown to handle sticky mud, debris and tire "roost". The brake caliper installation is now a flat-mount style, improving brake pad wear and lever feedback. Mounts for accessories cover the Cutthroat's main triangle and fork blades, allowing installation of bags, cages and racks for week-long (or longer) expeditions. The geometry and fit is stable and upright, making for a comfortable posture on rough roads. Salsa's Class 5 Vibration Reduction System (or VRS) carbon fiber at the seat stays soaks up harshness that would otherwise fatigue a rider, making the last mile of any ride much easier. There's even room for 29x2.4" tires. Yes, this bike is ready for anything!

Shimano's latest 11-speed GRX gravel-oriented components are found throughout the drivetrain, including the dual-control levers, front derailleur and Shadow+ long-cage rear derailleur. The clutch-equipped GRX 810 rear derailleur holds the chain in tesion much better than classic road derailleurs, improving chain engagement during shifting and reducing dropped chains. A Shimano HG-700 11-34T cassette and RaceFace Ride 46/30T alloy crankset offer a massive gearing range for tackling challenging grades while loaded down with gear. Tubeless-ready alloy WTB ST i23 wheels are wrapped with knobby tubeless-ready Teravail Sparwood 29x2.2" tires, delivering confident grip and a smooth feel. Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes handle stopping duties in all conditions, rain or shine. Salsa's alloy Guide stem and seatpost are paired with a WTB Volt Comp saddle and a 24-degree flared Salsa Cowchipper Deluxe drop handlebar.
